What is a cloud and how its work

 What is a cloud?

The cloud is usually applied to a multitude of web-based applications that can be considered as a piece of software or service. Cloud services can include cloud hosting, data storage and sharing, and software or software operations.

"Cloud" can also refer to cloud computing where multiple servers are connected to share the load. This means that instead of using one powerful machine, complex tasks can be spread across several microcomputers.

One of the advantages of cloud storage is that there are many shared resources performing the same task, often referred to as consolidated cloud storage. This makes the cloud more fault tolerant due to distributed data. Using the cloud reduces the need to create different file types because access to documents, files and data is shared.

How does it work?

A cloud server is an application (not a physical application) that runs in a cloud computing environment. It is created, maintained and delivered through a cloud-based web portal that can be accessed remotely. They are also called virtual server. Cloud servers have all the software they need to run, and can run as standalone.
